We are required to do an Animal Farm post and so I am doing it now.
Overview:Animals, inspired by Old Major's speech overthrow and kick out the human owner of a farm and renamed it Animal Farm. The farm started off as Utopian society and all animals are equal. However, things start to change as the pigs become corrupted and there are class and status disputes between the Animals. Napolean starts to defy the 7 Commandments and eleminates his enemies by force. In the end the animals could tell no difference between pigs and men as the pigs adopt the humans evil ways when they are not supposed to.
What does this tell us?
This novel represents the Russian Revolution and even the characters are like the politicians, parties and the citizens. It tells us about the ways that people abuse power and manipulate others. It shows how a true utopian society cannot be reached because there is a smarter, more corrupted and powerful person in the society. It shows wickedness, indifference, ignorance, greed and myopia pf the leaders, which are the pigs. This also shows animals' ignorance and indifference to problems and this results to their eventual subjugation.
My thoughts
There are many factors leading to the animals' subjugation. The pigs are corrupted, wicked and greedy for power. Animals are suppressed and afraid to speak up. Animals like Benjamin know the situation very well and refuse to speak up and does what is necessary to suvive in the farm. Moreover, the animals are very gullible and naive, they believe in almost everything that the pigs say.
